Biomagnetic Sensing at BMT 2025 (September 9 - 11, 2025)

See you soon at BMT 2025 in Muttenz!

This year, we’re excited to contribute again to the BMT conference — hosted by the Austrian, German, and Swiss Societies for Biomedical Engineering.

After a successful special session on magnetoelectric sensor systems back in 2023 in Duisburg, we’re back with new progress and fresh ideas. This year’s special session, organized by the CRC principal investigators Walter Maetzler and Robert Bergholz (both medicine) as well as Jeffrey McCord (materials science) and Gerhard Schmidt (electrical engineering), brings together nine speakers from CRC 1261 and three additional contributions, highlighting how magnetoelectric sensor technology continues to evolve — from basic materials to real-world medical applications.

Topics include:

  • Deep-tissue magnetic field sensors
  • SAW and delta-E effect-based technologies
  • Magnetically labeled polymers
  • Noise reduction strategies
  • Application-oriented system designs

Let’s shape the future of biomedical technology — together!
