Summer School 2024

This year, we had a joint summer school with the IRTG of CRC 1461 (Neurotronics) from June 10 - 12 at the Seehotel Töpferhaus in Alt-Duvenstedt near Rendsburg. On the first day, the members of the two IRTGs got to know each other at a science speed dating event and put their practical engineering skills to the test at a paper aeroplane competition. The second day started bright and early with a morning yoga session. Henrike Schmidt gave a workshop about presentation skills with a special focus on storytelling and personal interaction. Due to rain, the planned canoe race had to be canceled. Nevertheless, a part of the group braved the weather and explored the Bistensee by canoe and SUP. On the third day we learned about "Bridging to industry: Navigating transitions for academics" in a workshop given by Anna Canning. Last but not least, Franz Faupel gave a very interesting and inspiring talk about ways out of the climate and sustainability crisis.
