Focus Group F2 "Modelling"

The focus group unites all activities on device and system modelling within the CRC 1261. All projects in the CRC include the modelling of particular aspects, e.g. material and domain modelling, modelling of non-linear effects, simulation of mechanical and electromagnetic characteristics, simulation of signal strengths and noise contributions as a function of frequency, and models for digital signal processing as well as for solving the inverse problem. A wide selection of simulation methods is employed within the CRC 1261, ranging from analytical equation-based and semi-analytical models to numerical techniques (in particular FEM) to iterative methods combining different software tools. Within the focus group, simulation approaches and algorithms are compared, exchanged, and combined.

The focus group is coordinated by Martina Gerken. The following projects participate in the focus group:

  • A1 (Magnetostrictive Multilayers for Magnetoelectric Sensors)
  • A4 (ΔE-Effect Sensors)
  • A6 (Microstructure and Structural Change of Magnetoelectric and Piezotronic Sensors)
  • A8 (Modelling of Magnetoelectric Sensors)
  • A10 (Magnetic Noise of Magnetoelectric Sensors)
  • B1 (Analog Signal Processing)
  • T1 (Transfer Project – Individualized Deep Brain Stimulation)
